STUD OF THE WEEK - Salvatore

Vince with the big week via Beltran (22pts), and it earns him his 1st SOTW of the year and a nice $100 spot..He has jumped into the BA race as he gained 11 pts on the leader last week and is now in 8th place...he also is only 3 HRs back from 4th place as well now...he is still in the middle of the pack in RBIs..He has been hot since the AS break.  The 1st half of the season his line was: .254, 17, 54.. the 2nd half line is currently: .348, 8, 30...

DUD OF THE WEEK - Smith

The tough luck Monday Injury strikes again...this time on the reigning MVP...his pick of Bautista got hurt in the 1st game of a DH on Monday...and he only got 1 AB..he was put on the DL Tuesday...He was 0-1...ouch...It is looking like his best opportunity for a year ending top 4 finish is in RBIs, where he is only 7 behind..

The RACES

With only 5 weeks remaining of regular season ball...it is turning into crunch time, and the year end winners always emerge in September...

BA RACE - The leader Brink dropped 3 pts from last week to .330, but everyone immediately behind him struggled as well...his 11 pt lead last week is now 13 pts, despite him having a .250 week...There are 10 people currently above .300 that have the best shot at $$...

HR RACE - Stout had 1 HR last week to tie K Krauss who had nothing, both now have 36...Kramer in 3rd also had nothing..he has 34....It seems to be a 3 man race still as in 4th place, the Badenhops both have 30..20 others have at least 25 HRs and have a legit shot yet at some $$...

RBI RACE - K Krauss with the 3 RBI lead only had 1 last week...Kramer gained a little ground as he had 2 RBI...Stout had 4 who is now in 3rd place, and Zavislak had 5 and currently holds 4th place...There are 13 others within 10 of Zavislak in 4th place...

Big surprise here...Miggy Cabrera with a big week...He was 10/33 with 4 HR and 10 RBI...No one else was within 6 pts of the leaders this week...Stout is now top 5 in all 3 categories and has a legit shot at pulling off the triple crown...He is now 3rd on the $$ list...G Badenhop is now 5th place in HR and is only 1 HR behind the final year end $ spot...

DUDS OF THE WEEK - G Leonard, Guelde, Midura

Leonard went with J Reyes this week and he put up a 2/22..Guelde and Midura did not submit a pick..Leonard and Guelde are in the bottom 3 for overall pts..Midura is in the middle of the pack.

BA RACE

Brink has the current 11 pt lead...but there are 9 others above .300 that have a good shot to catch him yet for the BA Title...AT this point with 6 weeks left, I would guess anyone over .290 has a shot to get into the top 4 at seasons end.

Stud of the Week - Andy Brink

Brink was the only one to pick Adam Jones this week and it paid off for him...Jones racked up 22 pts despite playing in only 5 games during the week...Brink has taken over the BA lead by 1 pt... Brink has turned it on since week 14...Week 1-13 he hit .308..Since week 14 he is hitting .376..He is also gaining ground in the RBI race, as he has had two 8 RBI weeks in the past 3 weeks...he is now tied for 3rd on the Money List...2nd SOTW of the year also...

STUD OF THE WEEK - Troy Brooks

It was a battle this week of 2 Atlanta Braves...Troy ended up winning the week with 22 pts and a .433 BA (C Johnson) over Burger (F Freeman) who had 22 pts, but only a .375 BA.  This is the 2nd SOTW for Brooks who had been a big slump since the AS break...He is in the thick of the BA Race currently 9 pts behind the leader B Feikle...He is 4 HRs out of 4th place in HRs with 23, and in the middle of the pack in RBIs.....He is now in a tie for 3rd on the Money Leaders List...Maybe this will get Troy back going: 1st half of season - .347 BA - 2nd half of season - .238 (including this week)

DUD OF THE WEEK - Chip Parker

Tough luck week for Parker as Yadier Molina only managed 5 ABs all week, before getting sent to the DL with a knee injury...He was 0/5...This is the 3rd DOTW for him as well as back to back cellar performances...The last 3 weeks, Parker is .114, 0 HR, 2 RBI...a forgettable stretch there....
